Valentine's Day Ideas in Lake Norman

It's love in the air! This year's Valentine's Day may be a little different, but don't worry. From the most romantic activities to some delectable gourmet faves to enjoy with your significant other, we've got you covered.

BREAKFAST

This year, Valentine's Day occurs on a Sunday, so what better way to begin the day than with a delectable breakfast? Try Davidson's The Egg or Huntersville's Famous Toastery. Both breakfast establishments have a welcoming environment and serve delicious eggs benedict. If you don't care for breakfast, Summit Coffee has a variety of aromatic beverages and delectable pastries to help you get your day started. After you've replenished your energy, take a stroll down the block to one of Davidson's many local boutiques.

Cafe 100 is a good option if you're more of a "brunch" person. Order a Sunrise Mimosa for you and your spouse to toast to a fantastic day ahead!

Two-person amusement

Engage your buddy in physical activity! Hike one of the many pathways that lead to the glistening waters of Lake Norman at the Latta Nature Preserve. If you're in Cornelius, take a walk along Jetton Park's 1.5-mile loop track, which offers stunning views of the lake. Picnic tables and benches can be found along the walk and along the water's edge, allowing you to fully appreciate the landscape.

Do you and your partner have a healthy amount of rivalry? If that's the case, play a game of mini golf to see who wins. Axe throwing is available at LKN Mini Golf in addition to putt-putt. You must both be 18 years old and wear closed-toe shoes to participate in this activity. To ensure that everyone feels comfortable, they have placed social distancing stickers and hand sanitizer stations near the door. They're only open on Thursdays and Fridays right now, so call ahead to inquire about seasonal hours.

We highly recommend visiting Frankie's of Charlotte's enormous Pirate Island Mini Golf course. Will you complete the task or will you be shipwrecked? It consists of three 18-hole courses, each of which presents a unique challenge. The largest Frankie's site, Frankie's of Charlotte, also has laser tag, bowling, and three go-kart tracks. During the day, it's popular with families, and as the day progresses, it's popular with older, more youthful adults.

LUNCH

After a day of hiking or shopping, eat at Boatyard Lake Norman in Cornelius or Lancaster's BBQ, both of which are close to the Latta Nature Preserve and Frankie's. Kindred Restaurant is another another fantastic venue for celebrating love and life. You'll experience the freshest and most innovative cuisine in Davidson, thanks to a James Beard semifinalist as the head chef.

Afternoon Snacks

Relax after a long day by visiting a local winery or brewery. D9 Brewing Company, Lost Worlds, Eleven Lakes Brewing, Primal, and Ass Clown Brewing are some of the most popular places to go beer hopping in Lake Norman. Visit the Davidson Wine Company if you want to expand your wine pallet. They've recently added patio Igloos for enhanced safety, and they're actually rather unusual! Because spots are limited and sell out rapidly, you should make a reservation ahead of time. In collaboration with Blumengärten, you may also get the perfect Valentine's gift box from them. Each box contains a lovely bouquet of different flowers as well as two of their wines.

If you're seeking something sweet, you've come to the right place because Lake Norman specializes in serving the freshest, finest desserts. Drive over to Duck Doughnuts in Huntersville for warm, freshly baked donuts handcrafted just for you. If you're in Davidson, stop by Whit's Frozen Custard, or if you're in Cornelius, swing by Bakery 28. Tip: Make the most of your evening by visiting Jetton Park for the sunset at 6:05 p.m. that day!

DINNER

Dinner on the lovely lake at one of the three waterfront restaurants, all of which have heated indoor/outdoor patios, will impress your date! Because they're taking COVID-19 precautions, it's best to make a reservation ahead of time to ensure a spot on this particular day. Since they've offered special dinner packages in prior years, keep an eye out for offers on their social media platforms.

Another nice central location for dinner arrangements is Birkdale Village. This outdoor shopping mall provides a secure setting in which to enjoy a meal and a beautiful gift. You'll have the option of dining at luxury establishments such as Red Rocks and Dressler's, as well as more informal establishments such as Midwood Smokehouse and Bad Daddy's. The "Great Valentine's Day Pick Up," which includes a sushi plate and a bottle of cabernet or chardonnay for $125, will be available at eeZ Fusion. You'll be able to locate everything you and your spouse are feeling here.

Everything good must come to an end, but don't worry, the fun doesn't have to end here. You and your date can enjoy a variety of date-worthy activities throughout the year at Lake Norman!
